It’s not the most obvious career path, is it? But as Cristina’s story shows, Novo Nordisk isn’t a place for the obvious anyway. Having the curiosity to explore, create and step into new opportunities is all part of our employee experience.
“Who knew that you could be an industrial engineer and a mindfulness coach within the span of one life and career, and within the same company? I certainly didn't! But as I grew, I realised that I had to align my work with my life purpose. And so, I did.
My journey with Novo Nordisk began in an Assembly and Packaging factory in Hillerøod, optimising production machines and leading projects to expand capacity. After a few years, I transitioned into a leadership role, which was both rewarding and challenging.
While I enjoyed leadership, my curiosity and creativity led me to take a leap of faith and join People & Organisation (P&O) as a Senior Vice President training partner, where I got to combine my knowledge from production with my international mindset.
Fast forward to a career break in France, where I immersed myself in my passion for personal growth and development. That passion culminated in a Master's Degree in mindfulness and conscious organisations.
Today, I apply that knowledge in my daily work as a P&O Project Lead, focusing on increasing employee engagement and promoting psychological safety. I also conduct mindfulness sessions for leaders, helping them navigate their roles with a balanced mind. Mindfulness teaches us to be present. By being present without judgement, we can better understand the nuances of situations and people, make more informed decisions, and recognise our own needs.
I practice this conscious presence every day and strive to contribute to a human-centred approach in our corporate culture. Sometimes, a kind word or a thoughtful gesture is all it takes to make a colleagues' day.”
