Stand-up comedy and combatting serious chronic diseases may seem unordinary companions, but for Asaf the two complement each other perfectly.
“I've always been the 'funny guy' in social settings. And I’ve always believed that having fun together means working better together.
This led me to trying out stand-up comedy. I was drawn to improvisation initially, because it allowed me to be funny on the spot without the daunting task of writing material.
Improv gave me enough confidence to venture into stand-up comedy, which has been a rewarding yet challenging experience! Ultimately, though, I have realised it’s a passion that complements my professional life.
The whole process of trying out jokes, getting feedback, and refining my material mirrors my work as a user experience designer at Novo Nordisk.
That may sound unconventional to many, but combining diverse disciplines has been something I have always done. My background in mediology combined coding, graphic design, and psychology. It equipped me with a unique skill set that led me here.
In my role I specialise in human-computer interaction, focusing on understanding users’ needs and creating intuitive solutions.
There’s no doubt that our culture has been instrumental in allowing me to bring all sides of my personality and interests to work. I get the trust and trust and autonomy to explore and implement user-centric designs without bureaucratic hurdles. And it’s an environment that that fosters creativity and innovation. It makes my job fulfilling, impactful and fun.”
