The position
The Head of Communications and Sustainability will be responsible for leading a team and function responsible for all facets of external communication. This role will orchestrate and mobilise local media engagement to enhance patient awareness and activation. The incumbent will also play a pivotal role in contributing to social and online media strategies as an emerging discipline within the organisation while leveraging senior leadership experience to challenge and refine corporate habits and operating models.

 

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading a team that develops and implements strategic communication plans that translate complex scientific concepts into compelling narratives for a lay audience.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of social and online media strategies, ensuring alignment with corporate messaging and objectives.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key media outlets, industry stakeholders and internal partners to expand communication reach and impact.
  • Drive reputation management, media training, sustainability and internal communication with impact.
  • Lead and mentor a team consisting of three direct reports of communications/media partners and indirect/functional network of +50 colleagues across Europe and Canada, fostering a culture of collaboration and business impact.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Media Studies, or a related field; master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in communications, public relations, or related field, preferably from the fast-moving consumer goods industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in translating complex information into easily understood content for diverse audiences and across a range of channels.
  • Proven track record of successful media engagement and social media strategy implementation.

The position is based in Region EUCAN, where you will join a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
