With offices in 80 countries, the programme ensures ample on-the-job experiences, with the opportunity to bring your finance and business understanding into play in a multicultural network during your international assignments.

Novo Nordisk International Operations (IO) is the largest operational unit in Novo Nordisk and covers 194 countries and 95% of the world’s population. IO is split into five regions, spread across every continent of the globe. Employees working within business in Novo Nordisk have a wide range of roles and responsibilities – but all share the same commitment to excellence and to drive continued success of Novo Nordisk.

During the two-year programme you will undertake three exciting and challenging rotations of eight months each, which will include a regional office/business area, affiliate and maybe our International Operations office in Zurich.

You will work as a fully-fledged member of the team and build the competencies relevant to the rotation, all while ensuring a strong financial toolbox and a holistic understanding of Novo Nordisk and the pharmaceutical industry.

An example of an IO Finance graduate’s journey could look like this:

1.     Financial Planning & Analysis, Canada
Engage in the financial planning and finance processes in one of our key affiliates. Gain hands-on experience with Novo Nordisk’ digital and finance tools.


2.     IO Finance HQ, Zurich
Collaborate on diverse business cases that impact our IO markets. Work cross-functionally Pricing, Market Access, and Corporate Affairs.


3.     Regional Finance experience in Denmark, Singapore, Panama or alike:
Product launch support, cross-regional finance projects and get the chance to influence real-life business decisions, gaining a holistic perspective on our operations and strategic initiatives.

During the International Operations Finance Graduate Programme, you will receive comprehensive training to be successful in your role and gain knowledge and an invaluable international experience leading to both professional and personal development. You will develop your core skills within areas such as financial planning & analysis, process management and management reporting. Furthermore, you will work with senior managers and build your global network of world-class colleagues, positioning yourself to be one of tomorrow’s finance leaders at Novo Nordisk.

We’ve designed the program so that, following its successful completion, you will be equipped with the necessary skills and experience to become a valued and promising part of our company within International Operations.

As you embark on your life-changing career in Novo Nordisk, we will provide you with:

For the positions starting in September 2026, we are looking for candidates with:

  • Recent Masters degree. There may be some variations in the above requirements depending on country. You can find country specific information in the relevant job advertisement.
  • Relevant work experience or extracurricular activities obtained next to your studies (max one year between or after studies)
  • Above average academic achievements
  • Team-player attitude, excellent communication skills, high drive and an eagerness to learn
  • Fluent spoken and written English
  • International experience, for example from studying a full semester abroad, working or volunteering
