The position

As Vice President, People & Organisation GBS, India, you will:

  • Lead the HR service centre, ensuring efficient and high-quality delivery of HR services such as employee data management, total rewards and HR inquiries.
  • Develop and execute a strategic roadmap for HR shared services aligned with the overall strategic direction and GPOS’ strategy, focusing on digital transformation, process standardization, globalization and optimisation.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure continuous improvement and alignment with organisational objectives.
  • Collaborate with HR leadership, business leaders, and external vendors to ensure seamless integration and delivery of HR services, fostering strong cross-functional relationships.
  • Drive change initiatives within the shared service centre, ensuring effective change management practices to utilise new technologies, standardise processes.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning, taking lean leadership to the next level and development, promoting employee engagement, career growth, and succession planning to build a high-performing leadership team and organisation.

 

Qualifications

We are looking for an Executive with the following qualifications:

  • At least 10 years’ experience in driving improvements, digitalisation, and implementing shared services best practices. Ideally leading HR shared service center operations within a large, complex organization.
  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience leading other leaders and at least 10 years of leadership experience in total. Experience heading teams and projects in a matrix organization. A compelling leader who naturally attracts and motivates others. Leadership experience could also be from an affiliate, COE (Center of Excellence) or Product Supply.
  • Familiarity with cLEAN leadership and process improvement initiatives.
  • Knowledge of HR technology, including HRIS, case management systems, and self-service tools.
  • Cultural awareness, financial acumen, and a digital transformation mindset.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, customer-focused, results-driven, and adaptable to change.
  • Experience in a GBS (Global Business Services) environment is an advantage.

About the department

GPOS serves the purpose of efficiently managing day-to-day P&O tasks, processes, and transactions in Novo Nordisk. This area is accountable for consistent operational delivery towards the agreed service levels and timely and accurate support.

GPOS is customer-centric and strives for excellence by prioritising seamless employee experiences and effortless P&O services through continuous improvements. It means optimising every aspect of GPOS to increase quality and speed of service delivery, while eliminating waste and increasing productivity to reduce costs. ​

People & Organisation GBS, India, support global P&O services that are not time‑sensitive, do not require language skills, and are non–customer facing. These services apply across the entire Novo Nordisk organisation when those three conditions are met. The team works closely with customers and their colleagues in the regional services centers to innovate and improve processes while striving for simplicity and agility in everything executed.

Leading a team of 5 direct reports and a total of 111, reporting to Corporate Vice President, Stine Adrian Møller. Additionally, you will have a dotted-line relationship to GBS Management, GBS Bangalore. The GBS Management team – led by Corporate Vice President, John Dawber – is the governance body representing all business units in Bangalore. The team oversees management of the Bangalore office and ensures that internal procedures and processes support employee engagement and the growth of GBS Bangalore.
