Job Title: Senior Data Scientist

Department: AI Data Solutions, AI Reinvent & Engineering

Location: Bengaluru, India

Your impact begins here

As Senior Data Scientist, you will turn data and AI into decisions that help consumer health products across diabetes, obesity and wellness reach the people who need them. You will build production-grade machine learning and LLM capabilities that show what works across campaigns, channels and HCP engagement – and why. Your work will help commercial teams act with clarity and speed, and support more relevant engagement with people living with serious chronic diseases.

What you’ll bring

You know how to take models from idea to production and keep them performing. You will bring:

  • 8+ years of professional experience in data science, with clear evidence of production implementation – not only prototypes.
  • Hands-on experience building pipelines and models in enterprise environments, including one or more of Snowflake, Databricks or Dataiku, and/or Azure, AWS or GCP.
  • Mastery of machine learning, deep learning and practical statistical modelling, backed by strong feature engineering and sound data preparation.
  • Proven LLM implementation experience, including fine-tuning with PEFT/LoRA or equivalent methods.
  • Hands-on delivery of RAG and agentic AI workflows.
  • Proven MLOps experience, such as automated training pipelines, deployment, performance monitoring and continuous improvement. The tools you have used can vary.
  • A strong understanding of the privacy and compliance constraints that apply to analytics and AI.

Useful, but not essential:

  • Experience in pharma or another regulated industry.
  • Familiarity with orchestrators and ML platforms, such as MLflow, Airflow, CI/CD tools, containerisation and model registries.

What you’ll do

You will own the path from data to decision: building models and AI tools that measure impact, guide campaigns and keep running reliably in production.

  • Design, build and productionise machine learning and deep learning models for consumer analytics, demand forecasting, personalisation and performance measurement.
  • Engineer robust features – including time-series, cohort, interaction and embedding-based features – with careful leakage control and handling of missing data.
  • Apply advanced statistics and causal thinking, such as experimentation design, segmentation, uplift and attribution, to evaluate campaign impact, channels, TRx/NRx depth and breadth, content affinity and patient engagement, with robust validation and uncertainty estimates.
  • Develop RAG and agentic workflows (e.g. LangChain, LlamaIndex) for content analysis and synthesis, literature review support, HCP/KOL knowledge tools and grounded Q&A assistants.
  • Build an LLM/RAG-driven campaign optimisation and decision-support engine, covering channel engagement recommendations, content selection and experiment support.
  • Deliver end-to-end pipelines and MLOps – automated training and refresh, data and model versioning, batch and near-real-time deployment, drift monitoring, evaluation gates, alerting and documentation – while keeping data private, compliant (GDPR/HIPAA where applicable), reproducible and traceable.

Who you’ll work with

You will join the AI Data Solutions team, part of EAI Reinvent & Engineering within Enterprise IT & Quality. Enterprise IT & Quality works across the full Novo value chain, staying close to business stakeholders to deliver on their needs. Its focus is clear: the highest quality for patients, trusted technology and environmentally responsible ways of working.

In AI Data Solutions, you will combine advanced analytics, AI and deep domain expertise to build tools that strengthen patient engagement, improve interactions with healthcare professionals and create measurable progress across therapy areas.

Your closest partners will be the commercial colleagues who act on your insights – across campaigns, channels, content and HCP/KOL engagement – and the technology colleagues behind the enterprise platforms your models run on. Together, you will set clear priorities, decide and follow through, speak up when work stalls, and never compromise on privacy, quality or ethics.

What you can expect here

You will work at the forefront of AI and technology, as Novo upskills its entire workforce to advance AI as a main driver for innovation for people living with serious chronic diseases. Your expertise will shape how AI is used in real commercial decisions, and your voice will count.

You will grow with colleagues on the job and through relevant learning offerings. Expectations are clear, results are recognised, and you will be trusted to take ownership with the support you need to perform at your best.

Start now

Your impact begins today. If you are ready to put production-grade AI to work for better health, apply for the Senior Data Scientist role by 26 oct 2026. Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis, so we encourage you to apply as soon as possible.
