Lead/ Senior Category Strategy Manager - Medical Communication & Market Access
Job description
This is a unique opportunity to shape Novo Nordisk’s global Medical Communication, Market Research and Market Access categories from a strategic procurement perspective. You will drive category strategies at the intersection of business needs, stakeholder experience and value creation, setting the direction for how we partner with key suppliers across these critical areas. The role plays a key part in Corporate Procurement’s contribution to a strategic cost optimisation programme, delivering tangible impact at scale.
Your new role
As Senior Category Strategy Manager, you will have end‑to‑end ownership of global categories within Medical Communication, Market Research and Market Access. You will define and drive category strategies, build strong partnerships with internal stakeholders and suppliers, and ensure execution that delivers measurable business value.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Leading the development and continuous maturity of category strategies, translating business priorities into clear roadmaps, initiatives and measurable outcomes
- Building and driving strategic Supplier Relationship Management with key partners to improve service quality, innovation and cost efficiency
- Acting as a trusted procurement business partner to senior stakeholders, shaping decisions through insights, storytelling and clear commercial recommendations
- Driving execution of category strategies in close collaboration with local stakeholders, sourcing managers and GBS colleagues, ensuring speed, adoption and tangible results
- Scanning external markets for best practices and emerging opportunities, acting as a subject matter expert and coach to strengthen category capabilities across Global Procurement
Your new department
You will join Corporate Procurement in Bagsværd, Denmark, and report to the Senior Director and Head of International Operations & Commercial Procurement. Corporate Procurement manages Novo Nordisk’s global indirect spend of approximately DKK 130 billion and consists of around 150 employees in Denmark and more than 500 colleagues globally.

Your skills and qualifications
We are looking for an ambitious and impact‑driven professional who thrives in complexity and enjoys making things happen. You combine strategic thinking with strong execution capabilities and build trust quickly across diverse stakeholder groups.
To succeed in this role, you have:
- A master’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management or a related field
- 5–7 years of experience within Category Management, Strategic Procurement or closely related business areas
- Experience within Medical Communication, Market Research and/or Market Access, with a proven ability to develop and execute impactful category strategies that influence senior stakeholders
- Strong understanding of market trends, competitive dynamics and commercial models within complex service categories
- A demonstrated track record of building long‑term partnerships and influencing decision‑making in a global, matrix environment
You are ambitious and impact-driven, with the curiosity to spot opportunities and structure to turn them into results. You build trust quickly, navigate complexity with confidence, and enjoy working at pace with many stakeholders. You communicate with impact, adapt your style through storytelling and influencing, negotiate effectively, and are confident working with data to generate insights and steer performance. You are fluent in written and spoken English.

Salary: For this role, the Annual Base Salary ranges from DKK 847,000 to DKK 1,245,100, corresponding to the level of the position. The placement within the salary range will be assessed during the recruitment process based on the candidate’s skills, competencies, knowledge, and relevant experience.
Incentives and Benefits: The salary package may include short‑term and/or long‑term incentives as well as other employee benefits based on position level, location, functional area and relevant market benchmarks.
