Are you a dedicated, compassionate and composed leader with strong drug development expertise who loves to be where the heat is on?

Your new role

We’re seeking a highly engaged and experienced leader who can step in with short notice to develop, guide and be a stable anchor for our Rare Bleeding Disorders department in Medical & Translational Science (M&TS), Diabetes and Rare Diseases.

The Rare Bleeding Disorders department needs a new leader at a very exciting, but also critical, time for our exciting and innovative projects within hemophilia. You’ll be leading a strong and well-functioning group of experienced hematologists and drug developers who are committed to delivering new and improved treatment options for patients with rare bleeding disorders.

In this key role, you’ll:

  • Lead the M&TS Rare Bleeding Disorders department and be accountable for all M&TS deliverables
  • Oversee and guide activities across our Rare Bleeding Disorders portfolio, addressing the unique challenges of rare diseases
  • Ensure clinical development options, including trial designs, are carefully evaluated and optimised
  • Ensure trial oversight, monitoring, data interpretation and reporting activities are fit‑for‑purpose
  • Uphold high scientific quality and innovation in M&TS deliverables while fostering strong collaboration and communication with key stakeholders from early Research to Commercial
  • Promote a culture of teamwork and constructive dialogue within the department and across the broader M&TS Diabetes and Rare Diseases area

Your new department

In M&TS Diabetes and Rare Diseases, we emphasise curiosity and collaboration to achieve our common objectives, while setting a high bar for innovation and a willingness to succeed together. We strive to create an engaging and safe working environment where every team member is motivated, respected, supported and developed — working together as ONE team.

Your skills & qualifications

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • MD educational background and successful leadership experience
  • Expertise in clinical drug development, including advanced, complex trial designs
  • Exceptional skills in balancing demands and resources across a varied portfolio while prioritising mental well-being
  • Ability to navigate and collaborate within a complex matrix organisation, engaging with stakeholders from Research to Commercial
  • Familiarity with regulatory interactions and submission processes
  • A strategic approach to drug development, with knowledge of the full value chain
  • Experience in hematology would be an advantage but not a requirement

Moreover, you’re solution-oriented and collaborative while thriving in a fast-paced environment with strong focus on projects and core deliverables. We're also looking for someone who wants to participate actively in our leadership team to develop the M&TS organisation and our medical specialists in driving clinical drug development. You’ll actively need to cultivate an environment that is stimulating and attractive for team members.
