The Position

The Principal Finance Analyst for CapEX is tasked with overseeing capital investment, financial planning, governance, and reporting for a diverse and expanding portfolio. This role serves as a vital business partner, collaborating closely with Engineering, Project Management, and Site Leadership, and provides direct insight into the capital investments that will influence the site's future direction.

Reports to Senior Manager.

 

Essential Functions

  • Lead site-level capital expenditure (CapEx) planning and forecasting across growth, maintenance, and compliance projects
  • Partner with project leads to validate business cases, cost phasing, and lifecycle ROI models
  • Track and consolidate investment performance to support monthly and quarterly site and global reporting requirements
  • Participate in project steering committees, offering financial guidance and risk/opportunity analysis
  • Ensure compliance with Novo Nordisk capital accounting standards and financial policies
  • Support investment prioritization processes tied to Anchor Budget (AB), Mid-Term Plan (MTP), and Latest Estimates (LE)
  • Standardize project tracking and approval workflows, including CapEx requests, spend tracking, and capitalization timing
  • Act as liaison for Corporate Finance and Global Operations during budget cycles and investment reviews
  • Work closely with Engineering, Project Management, Business Support, and QA to ensure timely financial updates and accurate reporting
  • Lead finance support for monthly and quarterly site reviews, integrating project status, spend, and financial impact
  • Align across business units (e.g., Aseptic Manufacturing vs. CDMO) for clear cost center ownership and budget accountability
  • Follow all safety & environmental requirements in the performance of duties
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Physical Requirements

100% work scheduled based on-site at Bloomington, Indiana facility. Ability to sit at a desk for a long period of time.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field of study from an accredited university, required; MBA or CPA, preferred
  • Minimum of Seven (7) years of experience in FP&A, project controlling, or investment finance, required; manufacturing or life sciences environment, preferred
  • Two (2) years of management experience, preferred
  • Strong command of financial systems, Excel modeling, and business case development, required
  • JDE/SAP experience, preferred
  • Proven ability to manage cross-functional stakeholders and translate operational inputs into actionable financial insight, required
  • Adaptability and continuous learning, required
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail, required
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with various teams, required
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment, required
