The position
As a Clinical Research Associate, your responsibility will be site Management in the allocated clinical trials (feasibility, selection and initiation of sites as well as conduct of closing activities) in compliance with local regulations, International Council for Harmonisation Good Clinical Practice guidelines (ICH-GCP), Novo Nordisk procedures and protocol requirements to deliver reliable, high-quality data and study subject protection. In addition, you will be responsible to establish and maintain the professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Your responsibilities will be to:
- Prepare and conduct site visits (on-site and off-site), document actions, and follow up on action plans
- Train and guide site staff on trial protocols, procedures, and safety information handling
- Drive patient recruitment and manage site performance to meet recruitment targets. Identify and mitigate potential risks to ensure trial success
- Verify trial product handling, data quality, and adherence to timelines. Build and maintain strong relationships with investigators and site staff
- Act as the primary point of contact for assigned trial sites and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders. Participate in audits, inspections, and investigator meetings.
Qualifications
Experience in Clinical Research and master’s degree in Life Sciences or equivalent is an advantage. In addition, you need to have therapeutic knowledge as applicable demonstrated understanding of diseases and treatments.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- IT competencies in Microsoft Office on advanced level
- Fluent English, Bulgarian verbal and writing skills
- Valid driving license B
- Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, as well ability to share knowledge and train site staff
- Team oriented personality with high degree of flexibility - close collaboration with relevant roles to ensure success of the trial deliverables
- High focus on delivery and quality, and communication and presentation skills
- Ability and willingness to adjust quickly to new situations in a continuously developing environment
- High degree of trustworthiness and ability to take ownership of allocated trial activities to ensure timely delivery, proactively flags risks and issues and provides possible mitigations and solutions
- Decision making and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to go beyond current responsibilities and manage multiple priorities
- Act as an ambassador for NN values.

This position is based in Sofia, Bulgaria. You will join a dynamic and collaborative team dedicated to driving clinical development activities. Our department is responsible for planning, executing, and optimising clinical trials to ensure the highest standards of quality and compliance. We work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including investigators, clinical research organisations, and regulatory authorities, to bring innovative treatments to patients worldwide.
