As an IT Solution Professional for Data Historian Systems, you will take end-to-end responsibility of our AVEVA PI infrastructure, delivering reliable, compliant data solutions that enable advanced analytics, reporting, and process improvement in our API Pilot factories.
Our Data Historian systems are mission critical. You will be central to ensuring data flows seamlessly from manufacturing equipment and automation systems, is securely archived, and is readily accessible and contextualized for process engineers, analysts, and decision-makers across the value chain.

The Position
As the IT Solution Professional for Data Historian Systems, you will serve as the primary technical expert and solution manager of our AVEVA PI infrastructure within the CMC API Pilots. This role blends system administration, integration engineering, user support, and digitalization project participation in a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
You will take full responsibility for ensuring the stability, availability, and compliance of PI Data Archive and related components, working closely with automation, IT, and process engineering teams. Your work will be instrumental in connecting critical manufacturing data to end users, enabling data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.
Your scope will include designing and maintaining reliable data interfaces from a diverse landscape of OT sources (DCS/SCADA/PLC), administering the PI environment (including backup, patching, and security), contextualizing process data using PI Asset Framework, and developing visualizations with PI Vision. You will also provide proactive technical support, participate in troubleshooting of complex issues, and continuously optimize system performance and data integrity.
Beyond daily operations, you will contribute strategically to digital transformation projects—such as process contextualization, automated reporting, and enabling advanced analytics—helping the organization harness the full potential of manufacturing data in a compliant and future-focused manner.
This is a hands-on, visible role with the opportunity to influence both ongoing operations and the digital roadmap of the manufacturing site. The position is based in Bagsværd, Denmark, with the possibility of collaborating with global colleagues and partners.

About the Department
As part of Novo Nordisk PSQIT organisation, Chemistry, Manufacturing and Control (CMC) Development & Scaling makes a real difference for patients with chronic diseases across the world. We develop, manufacture and distribute drug candidates for clinical trials and have a strong culture with a “can do” mind-set.
The IT & Automation team is organised within CMC API Pilots, where we work with operation and maintenance of Automation and Data Historian systems, ensuring stable and efficient operation of our IT/OT systems, keeping the systems in compliance, and ensuring data availability in our 6 Pilot factories. The team currently consists of 16 highly competent IT Solution Professionals and Automation Engineers working across different automation and data technologies.
