We are looking for a visionary digital leader to join Global Patient Safety (GPS) as Vice President of our newly established area Safety Data and Digital Strategy. In this newly created role, you will be a core member of the GPS-LT group and collaborate with the other GPS-LT members in guiding the business area to meet its strategic ambitions. You will shape and lead the execution of the digital strategy for data science, analytics functions and core systems and tools in GPS, empowering teams, aligning platforms, and driving enterprise-ready capabilities that accelerate innovation and support our commitment to patient safety.

You will lead a high-performing area and ensure GPS fulfils its ambition to be a strategic, sustainable, and data-driven function. You will work across systems, data management, and governance to enable scalable solutions to future-proof the global pharmacovigilance organisation.

The VP will connect digital direction with delivery, foster strong cross-functional collaboration, and build future-fit capabilities in alignment with Development and enterprise priorities.

This position is based in Denmark, Søborg. We welcome applications from applicants that are based in Denmark or those that are willing to relocate.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Set and lead the digital strategy for GPS in alignment with enterprise and the Development area priorities, ensuring a value-adding approach to drug development and lifecycle management.
  • Build and lead high-performing digital teams with strong focus on capabilities, collaboration, and impact.
  • Drive simplification, automation, and scalability across GPS through fit-for-purpose digital solutions that enhance operational efficiency.
  • Establish a centralised digital operating model within GPS to ensure cohesive integration and prioritisation of digital initiatives while aligning with broader organisational strategies.
  • Act as the main digital partner for cross-functional collaboration, influencing direction and integration across GPS and the wider organisation
  • Ensure strong digital governance and effective data strategy, and platform alignment across systems and stakeholders.
  • Champion a culture of innovation, digital enablement, and future-ready ways of working.

 

What you bring | Experience

  • University degree in IT, data science, or equivalent.
  • Experience from the pharma industry is a requirement. Exposure to pharmacovigilance (PV) is a plus.
  • Proven leadership in digital product development, transformation, or capability building.
  • Demonstrated success in large, matrixed or regulated organisations with ability to connect digital ambition to business value.
  • Experience with data strategy, governance, and emerging technologies such as AI and automation.
  • Strong people leadership skills, with a track record of fostering a collaborative environment effectively and engaging and developing teams to drive change and performance.
  • Experience in cross-functional leadership and enterprise collaboration, with the ability to rally diverse teams across various functions towards common goals.
