The position
As an Associate Director, DSE, you will report to the Head of DSE within the Research & Early Development (R&ED) Strategy, Portfolio, Operations and Communications (SPOC) organisation. You will work closely with senior executives and key stakeholders across the R&ED organisation and the Novo Nordisk value chain. 

You will work to enable effective and efficient implementation of strategic digital projects, enabling senior leaders in these areas to advance the R&ED organisation’s strategic data/digital/AI priorities and aspirations.  

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Lead the implementation of data and AI workstreams/projects across R&ED and within individual units
  • Act as a subject matter expert, providing strategic insights to senior leadership (VP, CVP) on data and AI matters
  • Collaborate with internal and matrixed delivery teams to ensure the successful delivery of digital projects
  • Drive consistency, efficiency, and alignment in the execution of digital initiatives across R&ED
  • Partner closely with key stakeholders to identify and deliver on their highest data and AI priorities
  • Embed R&ED aspirations into daily workflows, challenging the status quo to achieve productivity gains, adopt new technologies, and enhance capabilities
    Organise project teams, assign responsibilities, and develop project schedules to meet milestones and objectives

Qualifications
To be successful in this role, we envision you to have:

  • An academic degree in a relevant field, i.e. natural science (biology, chemistry, etc.)
  • 10+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry or related field e.g. consulting, preferably within the areas of drug research & development, digital transformations, and implementations
  • Extensive experience in developing and implementing digital strategies and delivering high-impact, client-focused projects
  • Proven ability to solve complex problems, manage stakeholders, and lead cross-functional matrixed teams
  • High degree of self-drive and independence
  • Fluency in written and spoken English

About the department
You will be part of the DSE team within the R&ED SPOC organisation. Based at Novo Nordisk’s global headquarters, the DSE team plays a pivotal role in enabling the implementation of strategic digital projects, including those within the R&ED GenAI strategy.
