The position
As the Director of the Tech & Validation unit, you will lead four leaders who cover technology and validation & IT compliance specialists working across the clinical development value-chain of Novo Nordisk. Your leadership will be instrumental in steering technical Subject Matter Experts, Validation specialists and Developers, promoting a continuous improvement mindset founded on a strong foundation of business and technology expertise. A key part of your role will be driving the unit’s organisational and people development strategy, partnering with product delivery leaders to secure strong collaboration and value creation, and aligning goals and performance within the unit towards business outcomes. Additionally, you will be expected to drive cross-cutting strategic initiatives to support both the DD&IT Development strategy as well as key technology priorities from our Clinical Development organisation.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Work together with product teams and business partners to secure technology and validation capabilities are deployed to the right teams and deliver value, and drive capacity management and as well as plans for future needs
Drive strategic and business development initiatives to enhance efficiency through tooling, knowledge sharing and innovative working methods
Define and execute validation and qualification strategies for GxP Computerised Systems, Computerised Equipment, Infrastructure, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Machine Learning (ML)
Focus on new tech enablers helping us work smarter across our development and validation work in close collaboration with delivery leaders and our line-of-business collaborators
Engage actively with your team to cultivate a healthy working environment while making decisions that add value
Qualifications
To thrive in this role, we imagine you possesses an academic degree in business administration, computer science, data science, information science, or a related field and the following requirements:
Strong technology expertise within application and supporting technology capabilities, primarily within commercial software solutions (e.g. Saas) and supporting enablers, for example, integration capabilites.
Experience in leveraging validation and compliance practises as an enabler, bridging diverse domains and fostering synergies Demonstrable leadership skills to mentor and develop teams, act as a leader of leaders and focus on balancing a healthy working environment with delivering on business objectivesA strategic view paired with the ability to navigate complex stakeholder networks and proven track record in developing information technology strategies, policies, and plans
Background in pharmaceutical and regulated industries combined with experience in managing complex integrations, data flows, test automation, and AI tooling is an advantage

About the department
Data, Digital & IT (DD&IT) Development is a part of the broader DD&IT function in Novo Nordisk, with a keen focus and delivery responsibility towards our clinical development organisation, which oversees and executes on the clinical trail portfolio. The Tech & Validation unit enables us to deliver exceptional digital solutions that meet the highest standards of quality, compliance, and innovation.
As one of the cornerstone capability teams within DD&IT Development, the Tech & Val unit comprises skilled professionals who work across different teams and agile constructs to develop IT solutions and enabling functionalities (e.g. integrations) which are fundamental in executing on clinical trial processes. We work hand-in-hand within the delivery team with business colleagues, seamlessly integrating technical expertise and validation throughout the development lifecycle. We focus on comprehensive validation practices covering planning, documentation, coordination, and reporting for all digital products. Our systematic approach allows us to refine our validation methodologies, ensuring rigorous testing and effective prioritization based on a risk-based framework. We are also committed to advancing test automation initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce time-to-market.
