Build a broad understanding of how a global pharmaceutical company works and how its people, business and external relationships contribute to success. Across three rotations you will gain experience across Novo’s value chain and learn skills with our business, local markets and People and Organisation (P&O) function help meet our business challenges. The programme is designed for graduates with a business background who want to combine this with a career in P&O.
This two year programme combines business experience with a path into People & Organisation. The track presents an opportunity to gain broad business experience and develop your understanding of the people and organisational perspectives that support Novo’s continued growth. Through your rotations, you will gain hands on experience across the Novo value chain, working with diverse teams on business, people and organisational projects. You will gain international experience and learn how global priorities are adapted to local markets, needs and regulations and gain experience working across cultures.
Across the programme, you’ll develop your commercial understanding, project management skills, ability to use digital tools, as well as to understand strategic people perspectives and priorities. You could work on strategy, consulting or similar, building an understanding of how Novo operates and decisions are made. Each assignment will help you understand a different part of the business and to connect business priorities with people and organisational needs, ultimately preparing you for a future role in P&O.
Your rotations may include exposure to areas such as Business Development, Commercial, Digitalisation, Medical Affairs, Portfolio Strategy, Corporate Affairs and People & Organisation.
Your journey could include:
1. Business Development, Denmark: Gain a broad understanding of the Novo value chain while contributing to strategic business projects and building a solid foundation in the organisation.
2. International rotation, Turkey: Develop local market understanding and gain experience in connecting global perspectives with local business needs, priorities and regulations.
3. People & Organisation and Corporate Affairs, Denmark: Contribute to projects involving people strategy, organisational change or other People, Organisation, & Corporate Affairs priorities, using your business perspectives to support business performance, reputation and longterm growth.
The specific assignments and locations will depend on business needs but will provide enterprise understanding and help you connect business, people and organisational perspectives.
You will gain broad exposure to a global pharmaceutical company and develop an understanding of how different functions and teams contribute to the value chain. You will build experience in business roles before applying that understanding to P&O challenges. You’ll work on projects with real responsibilities, learn from colleagues across functions and develop the judgement to work through complex questions.
Through the programme you are offered structured development, mentoring and support from experienced colleagues, as well as an international network across Novo. This supports you in building business understanding and practical experience needed for a longterm career in People & Organisation or Corporate Affairs.
For positions starting in 2027, we are looking for candidates who want to use their business skills to work on people and organisational challenges. You should:
- Hold a master’s degree completed in 2026 or 2027, with excellent academic results. Relevant fields include management, business administration, economics, strategy, international business, commercial management, operations or a degree combining business and HR
- Be available to start full-time on 1 September 2027
- Have international experience from studying, working or living abroad for at least four months
- Have relevant experience from student jobs or internships in an area such as business consulting, strategy, commercial work, operations, project management, organisational development or experience in P&O function
- Have no more than one year of full-time work experience between or after completing your master's degree
- Be professionally fluent in English
- Be globally mobile

No, our corporate language is English, so speaking Danish is definitely not a requirement. There may be local language requirements for some International Operations (IO) tracks.
Yes, as long as you plan to graduate before the start of the Graduate Programme. It is also accepted if you have not received your official graduate diploma before starting in the Graduate Programme, as long as you have finished your studies and are just waiting for the official papers.
This position is designed as an entry-level role, and while many graduates join the program directly after their studies, we also consider candidates with up to one year of post-graduate experience.
Previous pharmaceutical work experience is not a requirement to apply for the programme.
For the Global tracks you will be employed by our Headquarters organisation and most of the positions will start in Denmark, except for Global Tax, where you will commence your rotations in either Denmark, US or in one of our International Operations locations globally.
For the International Operations tracks you will be employed in one of our specified hiring countries for 2027, where you will undertake your first rotation.
Upon successful completion of the programme, you will be offered a position in Novo, therefore full mobility and flexibility is required as the location is not pre-determined.
