Mr. Rask Nielsen joined Novo in 2005 as Corporate Counsel at the company’s headquarters in Denmark. Since then, he has held a range of senior legal, compliance and business leadership positions across Europe, the United States and emerging markets.
Mr. Rask Nielsen was recently GVP/General Counsel and Head of Legal, Ethics & Compliance, Quality & Business Development for Novo International Operations, based in Zurich, Switzerland. In this role, he is responsible for legal and compliance matters as well as Quality and Business Development across International Operations. He leads an organisation of approximately 500 professionals across 80 locations. He initially served as General Counsel of Emerging Markets before being promoted in 2017 to the International Operations-wide General Counsel role, subsequently taking on additional responsibilities including Business Development.
From 2014 to 2015, Mr. Rask Nielsen was Head of Sales Operations and Chief of Staff at Novo Nordisk Inc. in Princeton, United States. Prior to this, he served as General Manager of Novo Near East Rising Markets, based in Istanbul, Turkey, from 2011 to 2014.
Earlier in his Novo career, Mr. Rask Nielsen was Head of Legal, Compliance, Quality & Business Development for Emerging Markets, based in Zurich, from 2007 to 2011, and Head of Legal & Compliance for Region Europe from 2006 to 2007.
Before joining Novo, Mr. Rask Nielsen was an attorney at the Copenhagen law firm Hjejle, Gersted & Mogensen from 1998 to 2005 and was admitted to the Danish High Court.
