Who are we?
Novo Nordisk Consulting is Novo Nordisk’s in-house management consultancy. We report directly to a member of Executive Management and work on high impact projects across the value chain, from R&D to the commercial organisation. Projects can be strategic or operational in nature, but are always important to Novo Nordisk, as every project is approved by a member of Executive Management. Scroll down to see examples of projects.
We are a dynamic organisation of ~20 people and a talent incubator for Novo Nordisk – we recruit, train and export talent into the wider Novo Nordisk organisation. Meet some of our people on this page, and see examples of where our alumni have gone after Novo Nordisk Consulting.
Who are we looking for?
In general, we are looking for people with a background from leading management consultancies. Our people come from top-tier consultancies, such as McKinsey and BCG, as well as boutique consultancies. What we value are people who take an issue-driven approach to problem solving and can communicate their findings effectively to our stakeholders.
A background in healthcare and/or experience from healthcare projects would be an asset, but is not compulsory. Part of the fun is learning about the industry through our projects and formal training programmes.
We are hiring now: See the current job openings in the right side column.
We provide flexibility, control and senior management exposure. While we occasionally travel for work, you decide when it is best for you and the project. The parents among us appreciate the ability to leave work early to pick up the kids and work later in the evening. You will often work directly with senior leaders. We work hard, but also appreciate having a life(style).
For international candidates - Denmark is consistently voted one of the happiest countries on earth. The world has woken up to the benefits of the Danish ‘hygge’. We are based in Copenhagen, so this is a great opportunity to experience the Scandinavian lifestyle.
We work across the value chain, with projects in our Research and Development, Product Supply, marketing, finance and commercial organisations. Some projects are HQ-based, but others might require some travel.
We believe in ‘learning by doing’ through our project work, supported by formal classroom training at all levels. Novo Nordisk Consulting has a strong and robust feedback culture, with most teams opting for fortnightly downwards and upwards feedback sessions. To meet some of our colleagues, scroll down.
Meet Tine, Manager
Novo Nordisk Consulting is the ideal platform to get to know Novo Nordisk from the inside, as we are working on projects across the value chain and interacting with people at all levels of the organisation. Our key focus as a department is twofold; developing our people and helping our colleagues solve complex problems. I find a great balance between delivering impact for the business and personal development. At Novo Nordisk Consulting I build closer relationships with people around the organisation than I did when working as an external consultant – which also means that I am more directly rewarded for the work we do. In addition, the switch to Novo Nordisk Consulting has allowed me to continue to work with a young, fun and dynamic team, while finding greater flexibility to plan my time around family life with kids.

Fun fact/hobby: Former gymnast – I can do the worm from a standing position.
Meet Jens, Manager
I joined Novo Nordisk Consulting in January 2016 to combine my passion for consulting with my interest in pharma and a desire to make a difference for the many patients suffering from diabetes and haemophilia. Novo Nordisk Consulting has since provided me with a unique platform to grow by driving strategic projects, leading teams of highly skilled colleagues and being part of developing the department. One of the things that I appreciate the most about working in Novo Nordisk Consulting is that we trust the individual with responsibility and thereby give them opportunities to grow. I work as a Senior Project Manager - this means that I both lead my own project team and provide sparring to other project teams. As an example, I have been spearheading Novo Nordisk’s Must Win Battle to return our Biopharm business to growth, this both entailed looking at organic growth opportunities, M&A options and organisational considerations. In addition to project work, I also act as a development partner for some of our junior colleagues and participate in our Senior Team, which focuses on staffing decisions and development of the area.

Fun fact/hobby: In my spare time I enjoy spending quality time with my wife and family, as well as climbing in an attempt to stay somewhat fit.
Meet Regine, Senior Project Manager
After finishing my MBA, I wanted to leave strategy consulting and work in healthcare, but I only have very limited experience in the healthcare sector from my previous projects. I focused on looking for in-house consultancies so I could leverage my previous experience, and of course, Novo Nordisk Consulting fit that perfectly. I didn’t specifically set out to live in Denmark, but I figured I would check out the famous Scandinavian lifestyle. In this move I had several levels of changes – moving from working in Asia to Europe, moving from external to internal consulting and changing industries. Overall, although we still work hard, internal consulting provides better work-life balance, especially taking into account the greater emphasis placed on a balanced lifestyle in Scandinavia as a whole. Culturally the company is very collaborative, and there are a lot of changes happening in pharma – definitely an interesting time in the industry.

Fun fact/hobby: I have lived and worked in 12 countries (so far!) and keep fit through muay thai/kickboxing.
Meet Casper, Project Manager
Novo Nordisk Consulting has been the perfect match for me, as I was not ready to stop being a consultant but find the pharmaceutical industry immensely interesting. After joining, I quickly came to appreciate the freedom to plan my own time and work as long as I delivered quality work according to deadlines. The associated flexibility allows me to plan my work week in advance to allow for social activities as well as take an occasional fussball break at work. Finally, I find that working with internal stakeholders, who see me as a colleague, creates a more open and honest dialogue, which in turn enables me to create a lasting impact for Novo Nordisk, something I find tremendously rewarding.

Fun fact/hobby: I like to hike, ski, travel or enjoy a new speciality beer or Single Malt whiskey. Further I spent ~4 years of my childhood at an ostrich farm so I am always good for a story or two about this flightless bird.
Meet Frederik, Project Manager
I enjoy working for Novo Nordisk Consulting for a number of reasons, mainly because I am able to drive impact close to our business, I have regular engagements with top management, and we solve some of the most complex strategic challenges in Novo Nordisk. Equally important, the department is full of young and dynamic people, which I enjoy spending time with on projects and outside work.
• MSc. Political Science, University of Copenhagen (DK)
• Deloitte and Struensee
Fun fact/hobby: I have a deep passion for the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Whether that includes frozen nights in a Swedish hunting tower waiting for a wild boar to show itself or sunny days of trout fishing along the Danish coast - for me, the joy of being in nature is a purpose in itself.
Meet Roxana, Senior Associate
One of the things that stand out for me is the diversity in our projects. Projects can range from the commercial part of the organisation, to Product Supply, to Research & Development to Finance – we work on what is strategically important for Novo Nordisk. We work very closely with our stakeholders to drive impact and create meaningful solutions for the benefit of the company. This means that I have the opportunity to learn about how we run our business, while solving key challenges for Novo Nordisk. I am constantly challenged every day and I have the privilege of working with a group of ambitious, high spirited and driven individuals - many with great experience, knowledge and expertise - within and outside the organisation. We have a culture (and a responsibility) to develop ourselves and each other personally and professionally. And most importantly, we like to have fun.
