Join Novo Nordisk Consulting and boost your career

Novo Nordisk Consulting is Novo Nordisk’s in-house management consultancy. We work on high impact projects across the value chain, from R&D to the commercial organisation. Projects can be strategic or operational in nature, but are always important to Novo Nordisk, as every project is approved by a member of Executive Management. Scroll down to see examples of projects.

We are a dynamic organisation of ~20 people and a talent incubator for Novo Nordisk – we recruit, train and export talent into the wider Novo Nordisk organisation. You can meet some of our people.

Theofanis Spanos

We offer a chance to work on interesting projects for one of the world’s most successful pharmaceutical companies. Work-life balance is a priority and in general is more achievable in in-house consulting than external consulting. We have been there.

We provide flexibility, control and senior management exposure. While we occasionally travel for work, you decide when it is best for you and the project. The parents among us appreciate the ability to leave work early to pick up the kids and work later in the evening. You will often work directly with senior leaders. We work hard, but also appreciate having a life(style).

For international candidates - Denmark is consistently voted one of the happiest countries on earth. The world has woken up to the benefits of the Danish ‘hygge’. We are based in Copenhagen, so this is a great opportunity to experience the Scandinavian lifestyle.

We work very closely with the organisations we serve. In general, we are 100% allocated to a project and bring our project management and problem solving expertise to the project. We then partner with functional experts from the organisation to ensure the project delivers an outcome that is accepted and implemented by the organisation.

We work across the value chain, with projects in our Research and Development, Product Supply, marketing, finance and commercial organisations. Some projects are HQ-based, but others might require some travel.

In general, we are looking for people with a background from leading management consultancies. Our people come from top-tier consultancies, such as McKinsey and BCG, as well as boutique consultancies. What we value are people who take an issue-driven approach to problem solving and can communicate their findings effectively to our stakeholders.

A background in healthcare and/or experience from healthcare projects would be an asset, but is not compulsory. Part of the fun is learning about the industry through our projects and formal training programmes.

We work across the value chain on both strategic and operational projects. You can find some examples of projects below.

3-year regional strategy
We developed a holistic 3-year strategy for one of Novo Nordisk’s sales regions with purpose to align, communicate and cascade the vision and initiatives to a 4,000+ strong organisation across 100+ countries.

Memorable moment: “Gathering the General Managers from different countries in Dubai for a workshop to provide input to the strategy… great energy and enthusiasm around shaping the future of the organisation!”

Digital opportunities in Finance
We conducted an analysis of digital opportunities across the finance function with the aim of supporting the development of a strategy to adopt cutting edge technology in the finance organisation.

Memorable moment: “Presenting our work to senior management, including a digital knowledge database (100+ entries) and case catalogue (50+ ideas)... and experience the enthusiasm of our colleagues, when exploring the many digital opportunities!”

Product launch
We had a team to support the launch of Novo Nordisk’s once-weekly GLP-1 diabetes product. The project was to support a successful launch of one of our most exciting new products.

Memorable moment: “Walking up on stage, together with the rest of the Global Project Team, to celebrate the launch in US and positive opinion in Europe”.
