What's the difference between Global and International Operations (IO)?

While all of our programmes offer the chance to explore the world and be stationed in new and interesting places, our Global positions keep a focus on operations in our HQ in Denmark while International Operations positions offer graduates the opportunity to return to our affiliate offices in their home countries once their rotations end.

Our IO positions also have specific requirements for the countries in which they're based while Global positions are open to any and all nationalities.

You will both work with global people/organisational and business projects in Novo Nordisk through a wide range of different and exciting roles and within a number of diverse teams and functions – but no matter what, you will work with people who all share the same commitment to excellence and to drive the continued success of Novo Nordisk.  

The Global Business graduate programme offers rotational opportunities across Novo Nordisk in areas such as People & Organization (P&O), business development, commercial strategy, digital strategy, medical affairs, strategic R&D or public affairs.

During the Business Graduate Program, you will receive training and gain knowledge and invaluable international experience leading to both professional and personal development. You can develop your core skills within areas such as project management, change management, P&O aspects, as well as tactical and strategically related projects.

We expect you to be curious and have a diverse mindset to ensure you gain a broad understanding of our value chain. The aim is to enable you to understand different perspectives of our business and what implications business strategies, challenges and priorities can have on people and organisational plans.

Furthermore, you will work with senior managers and build an international network of world-class colleagues, establishing yourself as one of tomorrow’s key people in business at Novo Nordisk.

For the positions starting in September 2025, we are looking for candidates with:

  • A recent master’s degree from 2024 or 2025 in a relevant field, for example within strategy, economics, management, international business, HR degree in combination with a business degree – and above average academic achievements
  • International experience, for example from studying a full semester abroad, working or volunteering
  • Relevant work experience or extracurricular activities obtained next to your studies
  • Team-player attitude, excellent communication skills, high drive and an eagerness to learn
  • Professional fluency in English and be globally mobile

When you join Global Commercial Marketing at Novo Nordisk, you will contribute to a line of business that’s integral to driving strategy within our organisation – one that’s been entrusted to educate our customers and physicians about our life-changing products.

Global Commercial Marketing provides early business input to discovery projects and prepares long-term marketing strategies. We also prepare the markets for product launches and ensure optimal execution of commercial marketing strategies locally. During the two-year programme you will undertake three challenging and exciting rotations of eight-months duration within commercial, marketing and sales, first rotation in our corporate headquarters in Denmark and then two rotations in our global offices, where the last one is within sales. You will gain experience working as a fully-fledged member of the teams and receive leadership and teamwork training and development.

Throughout the programme you will gain hands-on experience with global and local pharmaceutical, commercial marketing and sales challenges and product pre-launch, launch and life-cycle processes. You will work with senior managers and build an international network of world-class colleagues, establishing yourself as one of tomorrow’s key people in marketing at Novo Nordisk.

For the positions starting in September 2025, we are looking for candidates with:

  • A master’s degree from 2024 or 2025 in a relevant field, for example within commercial strategy, marketing, branding, product management or business – and above average academic achievements
  • International experience
  • Relevant work experience or extracurricular activities obtained next to your studies
  • International mind-set and ability to adapt quickly to change
  • Team-player mind-set, excellent communication skills, high drive and an eagerness to learn
  • International driver’s license
  • Professional fluency in English and be globally mobile

  • Recent Masters degree*
  • Relevant work experience or extracurricular activities obtained next to your studies (max one year after studies)*
  •  Above average academic achievements

For the positions starting in September 2025, we are looking for candidates with:

  • A recent master’s degree (or higher) in a relevant field, for example within Human Resources & People Management, Leadership, Ethics, & Organizational Sustainability, Psychology
  • No more than 12-18 months post-graduate from program; one to two years of relevant work experience required at the time of application.
  • Above average academic achievements (Documented GPA of 3.5 or higher required)
  • Team-player attitude, excellent communication skills, high drive, and an eagerness to learn
  • Fluent spoken and written English
  • Legally authorized to work in the US

You will gain experience working as a fully-fledged member of the teams and receive leadership and teamwork training and development.

Furthermore, you will work with senior managers and build an international network of world-class colleagues, establishing yourself as one of tomorrow’s key people in business at Novo Nordisk.

This US based program will include three rotations within two years, including one international rotation. We’ve designed the program so that, following its successful completion, you will be developed to have an enterprise commercial experience; equipped with the necessary skills and capabilities to become a valued and promising part of our company.

For the positions starting in September 2025, we are looking for candidates with:

  • A recent master’s degree (or higher) in a relevant field, for example within commercial strategy, marketing, finance, data/analytics, or business
  • No more than 12-18 months post-graduate from program; one to two years of relevant work experience required at the time of application.
  • Above average academic achievements (Documented GPA of 3.5 or higher required)
  • Team-player attitude, excellent communication skills, high drive, and an eagerness to learn
  • Fluent spoken and written English
  • Legally authorized to work in the US
