We are looking for a dynamic and innovative individual to strengthen our mammalian cell cultivation and process development activities. The position is in the Cultivation Technologies department, part of Global Research Technologies, located in Måløv, North-West of Copenhagen.
The area is specialized in the discovery and development of recombinant proteins and peptides for the treatment of type 1 and 2 diabetes, hemophilia, growth disorders and obesity. New areas of exploration include innovative biopharmaceuticals targeting indications such as non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) and cardiovascular disease (CVD).
About the department
You will be employed in the department Cultivation Technologies which is part of the Recombinant Technologies area. The department, consisting of 6 scientists, 10 technicians, is responsible for selection and characterisation of new cell lines, medium development and initial process development for new drug candidates and for providing proteins and peptides for preclinical testing in a non-GMP setting. For this purpose, we apply state-of-the-art equipment for cultivation of a range of different expression hosts of both mammalian and microbial origin including also primary recovery technologies. This work is carried out in close collaboration with the other departments in Recombinant Technologies and other areas within Global Research Technologies and our CMC organisation.
Our work is facilitated by multidisciplinary project teams. You will provide scientific expertise within mammalian physiology and cultivation technology to several early stage projects. You will plan, evaluate and report experimental work in the laboratory, carried out by experienced laboratory technicians and yourself both independently and in close collaboration with other department members. You will be part of our skilled group of scientists maintaining and developing our mammalian cell and microbial cultivation platforms. Furthermore, you will be responsible for early cultivation and recovery process development and transfer to CMC.
As a successful candidate you hold a PhD in biotechnology, cultivation technology or cell biology with minimum 3 years of theoretical as well as practical experience within mammalian cell cultivation applying bioreactor systems.
It will further be an advantage if you have:
- Knowledge within state-of-the art cultivation equipment
- Experience with perfusion technology
- Primary recovery technologies
- Qualitative and quantitative analysis of product and related impurities
- Purification technologies
- Programming and automation
- Mammalian molecular biology
You should be well versed in laboratory culture techniques and have a comprehensive understanding of cultivation optimisation and scale up of bioreactors.
Finally, since all work takes place in multidisciplinary project groups, good interpersonal and communicative skills are essential.
