UK business award to Novo Nordisk
The Nordic-UK Business Awards, which took place on 4 March at the London Stock Exchange, are hosted by government organisation UK Trade and Investment (UKTI). Their purpose is to celebrate the best of Nordic business talent succeeding in the UK, recognise the strong relationship between the UK and Nordic countries and the role that UKTI plays in this relationship.
Through demonstrating a company wide commitment to Corporate and Social Responsibility (CSR) in the UK between 2006 and 2009, backed by evidence of collaboration and partnership between business and community organisations, Novo Nordisk UK was announced winner of the 2010 CSR award.
Speaking on the success, Viggo Birch, Vice President UK and Ireland, said: "I am very proud to win this award. This is a fantastic recognition of our Triple Bottom Line commitment and our approach to balancing financial results with social and environmental sustainability. We are strong believers that this is one of the reasons for Novo Nordisk’s worldwide success."
Sir Andrew Cahn, the CEO of UK Trade & Investment (UKTI), presenting the award at the London Stock Exchange said: "It is an absolute pleasure to celebrate the cutting edge Nordic companies that are transforming UK lifestyles, from what our mobile phones can do, to the way we do our accounts and listen to music.
"Astounding creativity from green energy to healthcare surround us at these awards, and at UK Trade & Investment we are proud to offer help to companies willing to take the leap towards global success."
