Novo Nordisk on World Haemophilia Day
The 17 April 2010, World Haemophilia Day (WHD), was celebrated by Novo Nordisk along with the global haemophilia community. The primary aim of this 21st celebration of WHD is to promote knowledge and understanding of haemophilia.
As a WHD partner to the World Federation of Hemophilia and Novo Nordisk supports the theme: 'The Many Faces of Haemophilia'. Novo Nordisk driven activities were carried out in more than 25 countries reaching thousands of people.
Haemophilia is a lifelong bleeding disorder that prevents blood from clotting. Approximately 600,000 people world wide suffer from the disease. With proper treatment, people with haemophilia live relatively normal lives. Without treatment, most children with severe haemophilia will die young.
