Novo Nordisk makes SustainableBusiness top 20 list
- August 2003
SustainableBusiness.com, a group of leading US investors and asset managers, has selected Novo Nordisk as one of 20 of the ‘World’s Top Sustainability Stocks’.
To choose the 20 companies on its list, SustainableBusiness.com asked five leading social and environmental investment advisors to recommend companies that stand out as the world leaders in terms of both sustainability and financial strength. "Our goal is to create a list that showcases the top companies leading the way to a sustainable society," says Rona Fried, Ph.D., SustainableBusiness.com CEO and Editor of the online newsletter The Progressive Investor.
The list includes two types of companies. Companies like Novo Nordisk are on the list because of their understanding of and commitment to sustainable business practices. Others are included because their products, such as wind energy, are integral to the transition to a sustainable society.
The 2003 SB20 is made up of: Ballard Power Systems, Chiquita, Electrolux, FuelCell Energy, Green Mountain Coffee, Henkel, Herman Miller, Horizon Organic Dairy, Itron, JM Inc, Novo Nordisk, Novozymes, Power Integrations, STMicroelectronics, Swiss Re, Timberland, United Natural, Vestas, Wainwright Bank, and Whole Foods.
