From idea to patient
Against the odds
In the pharmaceutical industry, only 10 out of every 10,000 new product ideas are ever tested in the clinic. Out of those 10, only one will be good and safe enough to clear market approval for use in the treatment of patients.
Long-term commitment
The journey from lab to market takes about 10 to 13 years. The investment, in terms of both human and monetary resources, increases as the product moves further along in the development process.
Bridging from research to development
Along the way, new chemical compounds are tested in animal models and human tissue samples to ensure their safety and target activity before moving to trials in humans.
