A part of something bigger
I have been with Novo Nordisk for three years and was invited to take part in developing an entirely new drug concept. I have been working within the drug delivery business for 18 years, so I was extremely attracted by being able to work with an area that supports the entire company.
Commitment is the driving force
If we can get rid of the needle at least once or twice a day it will be a huge accomplishment. The commitment we have for diabetes patients is really what drives us.
Diabetes is close to being a worldwide epidemic, so the work we do is very important. I think we need all the assistance we can get in order to provide the best help to diabetes sufferers.
There are so many poorly treated diabetes patients out there today who are in need of new therapies and I am just happy to be one of those able to contribute to what we are trying to achieve here at Novo Nordisk.
Knowledge and flexibility are keywords
What first struck me when I came to work at Novo Nordisk was the fantastic knowledgebase that exists within the company, a knowledgebase entirely independent of nationality.
And more importantly, I discovered a unique ability to share that knowledge. I could just open the drain and tap into knowledge. To become a part of that was a wonderful experience for me.
Since having started working at Novo Nordisk, I actually have more time for my family than ever before even though I commute two hours daily. This is due to the high level of flexibility Novo Nordisk offers.

To change diabetes is not only about the best insulin or the active pharmaceutical ingredient, it is also about offering the best advice, the most convenient delivery system and the best education for health care professionals.
