Educational Background:
Pittman Business College
Position:
Marketing Assistant
Department:
International Marketing, Life Cycle Management
”I saw an advertisement in the paper for this job – and it was written in English! And I soon found out that the department is not only called International Marketing, it really is international. I have colleagues from Australia, Bosnia, China, Finland, Greece, Slovakia, Sweden and Denmark.”
Size is a relative thing
I think most people in Denmark think of Novo Nordisk as a large Danish company. But the fact of the matter is that most of our products are sold on the international market. In this marketplace Novo Nordisk is a well known and respected company – but far from the biggest.
But still International Marketing employs around 200 people all in all, 34 of them are in my department – Diabetes Life Cycle Management. We manage products already marketed as well as launch of new devices.
The organization is flat
It is a challenge to work in International Marketing. You automatically learn a lot about the different cultures and despite our cultural differences, we can rely on each other making us the big international family – where the days are always different. I also feel I have been very lucky. I have had some great bosses. They have been a challenge to me, and I have been a challenge to them.
The whole organization is.....well, quite loose and flat. It is not the traditional hierarchy. The energy flows freely. We work in open space offices – so you always know what’s going on and what your colleagues are working with. We do have a few closed rooms of course, for meetings or if you need peace and quiet.”
