Three years in the U.S. Army; Bachelor degree in Business
Job title:
Shift Process Manager
Department:
Formulation Department
Job and goals
"Currently I'm a Shift Process Manager. I work the day shift. I'm over a team of formulation and component preparation technicians. I have finished my bachelor’s degree in Business. And hopefully I will continue with an MBA."
Direct involvement
"I'm over a team in the formulation and component preparation department. We have a very close and very direct involvement in the process of making the insulin. So that right there is one of the aspects that I like about my job - to think that we're putting this together from raw materials and somebody is going to inject it eventually. It's very, very important."
Self-direction
"We tend to be more self-directed, a little bit closer in unit relationship, teamwork wise especially in the formulation group. ... There are four teams of five people."
Right formula
"I've learned a lot. I started here as a temporary washing glassware in the microbiology lab. Then I got hired in packaging. I guess ever since I started I've been kind of looking for where I fit. I enjoyed what I did, but I was just kind of looking around and feeling and seeing where I wanted to be. Eventually I found myself here in Formulation, and that's where I want to be."
