The more I knew about Novo Nordisk, the more I wanted to join
After the first interview with Novo Nordisk on a jobfair, I visited its website. I was surprised that so many well-known biopharmaceuticals were discovered and developed by this company! Naturally, as a scientist, I was attracted a lot by the R&D’s science excellence.
What attracted me most is the culture of the company. I felt that the company is like a scientist more than a businessman. Like a scientist with strong responsibility for society and environment. Like a scientist dedicated to the defeat of diabetes by scientific ways such as educating people to prevent and treat diabetes and making better medicines. I became very excited as if I found a very good friend. So when Dr Wang Baoping, Director of the R&D Centre, asked me whether I wanted to join Novo Nordisk, I told him that the more I knew about Novo Nordisk, the more I wanted to join Novo Nordisk.
After working here for a period of time, I found that the responsibilities Novo Nordisk claimed on its website had been translated into practice. Take environmental responsibility as an example; we classify the waste carefully every day. And environmental considerations are part of our decision making when we design the experiment.
I love working here very much
I play with proteins every day. Just like people, every protein has its own personality. When you know more and more about a protein’s personality by means of experiments you design, you will know how to make it happy. Then you can build a good relationship with it and have a lot of fun. More importantly, you can work the project out. And the protein you play with might become a very useful medicine for the treatment of diabetes, homeostasis, cancer or some disease!
I love working here not only because I love what I do but also because I can do what I love to do with high efficiency here. What makes my work efficient includes good facilities and advanced management. What’s most important is helpful communication with so many talented and friendly colleagues.
