Base Camp Introduction

The objective of the Region Europe Finance Graduate Programme is to develop employees for the future with extensive knowledge of the Region Europe business and finance operations. During the two-year programme you will obtain broad and fundamental understanding of several areas within our European and Corporate Finance organisation, and the programme prepares you for an exciting career in a global organisation.

In return, the programme will provide the Novo Nordisk finance group with accomplished talent who can help drive best-in-class operations.

Graduates will be introduced to these areas:

  • Controlling and management reporting
  • Financial planning
  • Corporate accounting
  • Corporate tax
  • Financial shared service centre

Throughout the programme graduates are systematically introduced to the finance organisation while having plenty of interactions with stakeholders from other business areas. Upon completing the programme, graduates are equipped with the tools to take up challenging positions within the European Finance organisation.

Scope of the program

The programme offers individualized schedules consisting of rotations within the Region Europe headquarters in Zurich, within Corporate Finance in Copenhagen and a large sales affiliate in Europe.

The programme offers generous on-the-job experiences, a steep learning curve and a multicultural network for recruits looking to launch a meaningful career in the pharma finance industry.

Rotation details

Rotation 1
The European Finance Graduate Programme consists of three rotations over two years.
The first rotation is in Europe Strategic Operations in Zurich, where graduates are exposed to finance controlling, balanced score card, budgeting, market analysis, etc in the Regional Headquarter for Europe.

Rotation 2
The second rotation is typically in the Corporate Headquarters in Denmark, where graduates are assigned within key corporate functions such as Mergers and Acquisitions, Treasury, Corporate Financial Planning, Group Internal Audit, depending on each graduate's interest and open positions.

Rotation 3
The last rotation is in an European affiliate, where the graduates will become truly close to the marketplace, and get hands-on experience with the business challenges that pharmaceutical companies face in the marketplace.

In each of the rotations, the graduate takes up a full position and is given clear responsibility for assigned tasks. For each rotation a steep learning curve is expected and high expectations are set for the graduates. This is, however, coupled with training programmes and coaching to ensure that the necessary tools and advice are available for fast development.

Graduate recruitment for 2009 has now ended. Next recruitment campain will take place primo 2010.
