How to store and look after your NovoFine® needles
- NovoFine® needles are sterile and for single use
Needle re-use is closely related to tissue damage and metabolic control. A needle that has been used more than once has lost its original sharpness. The smooth silicone coating is lost, and the tip may be bent. In relation to metabolic control, a needle left on a pen-device between injections, can act as a pathway for evaporation of insulin leading to changes in insulin concentration. In a similar way, the formation of insulin crystals inside the needle can change the insulin composition and act as a barrier for free insulin flow.2-4 - Do not bend or damage the needle before use
