FAQ

How should I store HypoKit?

You hypokit from Novo Nordisk should be stored either 2-3 years (depending on country) at 2oC to 8o C. Avoid freezing to prevent damage to the syringe.

The hypokit can be stored at room temperature (up to 25o C) for 18 months provided that the expiry date is not exceeded.

Reconstituted glucagon should be used immediately after preparation. Do not store for later use.

The glucagon vial should be protected from light.

What should my family, friends, and co-workers do in severe hypoglycaemia?

They should act quickly! Prolonged unconsciousness may be harmful and lead to brain damage and even death. Those around you should turn you on your side to prevent you from choking. Once they have turned you on your side, they should prepare the glucagon for injection according to the user manual.

Are there any risks with glucagon injections?

Severe side effects are very rare, although nausea and vomiting may occur occasionally. No evidence of toxicity has been reported. If you experience any other reactions, which you believe are the result of glucagon, please contact your doctor.
