The International Business Graduate Programme for newly graduated master’s students is a 2-year programme. During this time you will explore the company and develop your personal and professional skills through 3 job rotations.
The journey starts in your home country (see list of affiliates and business areas below). Next rotation will take you to our headquarters in Denmark and the last rotation will bring you back to a country within the business region you started in (different from your home country).
The Business Graduate Programme will give you the opportunity to learn valuable skills as you work across different business areas and countries to accomplish your goals.
After finishing the programme, our Graduates are hired in positions ranging from internal consultants, specialists and international project managers.
Scope of the programme
The International Operations Business Graduate Programme consists of three rotations of 8-months, with each period enhancing your business understanding. The rotations can also take place in different parts of the organisation depending on the projects and business needs e.g. Business Development, Regulatory Affairs, Product Supply or similar. All Graduates in the International Operations Business Programme will learn about the following three areas:
- Project Management
- Marketing and Sales
During the two years as a Graduate you will explore the company and learn the Novo Nordisk Way in 3 different geographical locations. The 3 rotations will take place in the local country you apply for, our headquarters in Denmark and in one of our business regions or in a different affiliate than the one you started in.
After finishing the programme, you will take up a permanent position in your home country as e.g. an internal consultant, analyst, specialist or international project managers. Your broad network and international experience from the Programme will enable global career opportunities in Novo Nordisk in the future. The Graduates will also be expected to be flexible in terms of location after the Programme ends in case alternative opportunities abroad comes up.
To join the Business Graduate Programme you will need a recent master’s degree in economics, management, international business, marketing or a related field.
We are looking for local talents who are results-oriented, ambitious and able to adapt to change. As a candidate you will have worked for no more than 1 year since finishing your studies. You will need to be able to work as part of a team and enjoy learning new things in a fast-paced environment.
Structure of the programme

The International Operations Business Graduate Programme is a 2-year journey consisting of three 8-month rotations. The rotations will take place in the local country you apply for, then you will work at our headquarters in Denmark and finally last rotation is in one of our business regions or in the local affiliate (different from your home country).
With each rotation you’ll face new challenges and gain knowledge and experience, while at the same time expand your professional network for your future career. During this time you will explore the company and learn the Novo Nordisk Way.
After successfully completing the programme you will embark on your career at Novo Nordisk with a permanent position - perhaps as an internal consultant, specialist or international project manager. Business Area Oceania, South East Asia (BAOS)
Based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Novo Nordisk established a regional office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia more than 3 years ago and currently employs 25 people in various regional functions, including Marketing & Commercial Effectiveness, Finance, Logistics & IT, People & Organization, Clinical, Medical, Regulatory Affairs and Quality. We are responsible for 16 countries within the Oceania, Pacific and South East Asia regions with affiliate offices in 8 countries.

Indonesia is one of the most populated countries in the world and the gap between the numbers of diabetes patients and the patients who get the right treatment is larger than in other countries. Consequently, there are numerous opportunities to change diabetes. Novo Nordisk is the first to take the initiative to change diabetes in Indonesia. In line with our Triple bottom Line, we have created a mid-sized market for Novo Nordisk International Operations. Among the 242 MM Indonesians, 7.6 MM people live with diabetes and 12.6 MM have pre-diabetes. Less than 1% of Indonesians living with diabetes achieve the right treatment and only one in eight, who are in need of insulin actually gets it. As such it is estimated that in 10 years 10 millions Indonesians will live with diabetes. Almost one million of these Indonesians will require insulin. The alarming scenario has inspired the NN Blueprint for Change Programme to investigate in the Indonesian diabetes challenge.
The Representative Office of Novo Nordisk A/S in Vietnam belongs to Business Area Oceania Southeast Asia and is the biggest market of BAOS’ sub-cluster, named South East Asian Emerging Markets, which consist of Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Sri Lanka & the Maldives.
Novo Nordisk established its Representative Office in Ho Chi Minh (HCMC), commercial capital of Vietnam, on 30th Nov 2012, having started its sales & distribution operations in 01.1999 through one of the two major local distributors. A satellite office in Hanoi (HN), the government capital, was inaugurated on 27th June 2013. At current, a vast growing workforce of 97 is supporting the business and tremendous untapped opportunities to change life of people living with diabetes and other disease in Vietnam and the SEEM countries are yet to be unveiled; you can be a part and start your life-changing career tomorrow!

Business Area Africa (BAAF)
Based in Dubai
Covering Africa, Novo Nordisk’s BAAF region represents one of the most dynamic business areas in Novo Nordisk with an average annual growth rate of 21% over the last 7 years, covering operations in 55 countries including 6 affiliate offices (Libya, Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, Middle Africa, South Africa) and the BA office is in Dubai.
Over 800 employees work in BAAF and we generate sales of more than 2 BDKK per year. It takes only one visit to notice the diversity and dynamics across BAAF.

Middle Africa affiliate
Novo Nordisk Middle Africa was formed in early 2012 with 44 employees, which includes 16 nationalities spanning 48 countries in Africa. South African affiliate

BAGIE is one of the six regions in International Operations covering Gulf, India and Egypt with headquarters in Dubai. The countries in this region are extremely diverse in their culture, as are the employees in the Dubai office.
Over 1,300 employees work in BAGIE and we generate sales of more than 350 million USD in 2014. There are more than 10 nationalities from different professional background working together making this office truly international. Novo Nordisk’s Egypt office was established in 1991 and currently employs 122 people from different countries, 80 % of whom are located in the sales and marketing departments in Novo Nordisk’s office in new Cairo. Business Area Commonwealth of Independent States (BACIS)
Based in Moscow, Russia
BACIS is a vast region that includes eleven countries from the Commonwealth of Independent States plus Georgia and Mongolia. It counts 4 affiliate offices in Azerbaijan, Belorussia, Kazakhstan and the Ukraine with the regional office in Moscow (Russia). The construction of local manufacturing facilities for modern insulin was started in 2012 in Russia.

Russia is the biggest country and the largest market in BACIS. It is of strategic importance to International Operations and Novo Nordisk. The representation office was opened in 1991, now there are more than 360 employees working in different regions of Russia.
In Russia 12.7 million people have diabetes (IDF, 2012). Yet only 30% have been diagnosed, i.e. 3.7 million are officially registered. That means, that 9 million people have diabetes, but are receiving no treatment. Novo Nordisk is investing in the construction of the Greenfield plant for the production of modern insulin in Russia in Kaluga region.

Who you are
To join the International Operations Business Graduate Programme you must hold a master's degree in a relevant subject, for example within economics, management, international business, marketing or a related field.
You have an outstanding academic record and came top of your class. Only recently graduated, you have no more than 1 year of work experience and you have an excellent command of both spoken and written English.
You are a local talent who is results-oriented, ambitious and able to adapt to change. You are a great team player and enjoy learning new things in a fast-paced environment.
