Accounting for performance
Novo Nordisk reports on its performance on an annual basis. As of 2004, the company’s reporting integrates financial and non-financial reporting into one document, the Annual Report, prepared for the company’s shareholders. This is the legal document, including all financial information in accordance with Intenational Financing Reporting Standards (IFRS), the Danish Financial Statement Act and additional Danish reporting requirements as well as information pertaining to Novo Nordisk’s non-financial performance.
The Annual Review 2004, provides an overview of the company’s performance during the year. It has the same basic information as the legal document, including feature articles that present key challenges for the company to address in its pursuit of its vision and strategic objectives. It gives has performance highlight, but does not include detailed performance data.

Additional, voluntary reporting
In addition, Novo Nordisk subscribes to international codes and standards for voluntary reporting, with particular focus on economic, social and environmental performance.
