- Changing the future of diabetes

In a recent statement, Lars Rebien Sørensen, Novo Nordisk CEO, outlined the grave future of diabetes:

“We cannot solve our societal problems with a pill. It takes more."

“We need to get our message out about the risk factors for type 2 diabetes to children and young people. Otherwise, we will not be able to defeat diabetes within the next 20 years.”

Novo Nordisk has a stated intent and promise; we will lead the fight against diabetes, because defeating diabetes is our passion and our business. To truly lead the fight against diabetes and to demonstrate our commitment, we must start where we can make the biggest impact – with the people of the future.

In order to support a future where empowerment, control, independence, and optimism form the mindset of people with diabetes, Novo Nordisk focuses on engaging multiple stakeholders – and among them young people – to change diabetes. This is why we have come up with a new programme devoted to children and young people: YOUNG VOICES.
